SERVEIS D'ACSAR


JUSTICE AREA
Since 1980 the association has offered legal advice and judicial aid to people that have Refugee status in Spain, passed in March and established by the convention of Ginebra in 1951 and the 1984 Spanish legislation, modified in 1994.

SOCIAL AREA
The association has developed the following programs:

- Itineries and ocupacional insertion.
Consists of the realisation of actions and helping to insert Immigrats with legal documents or regulation in process.

This also includes:
- Situation of Permits
- Links with other work active in Barcelona
- Demands of the market

- Service of translators and interpreters
Since 2001 has placed translators in Social Services of Municipals in and around Barcelona.

It is of Barcelona and The Attention services for Immigrants and Refugees (SAIER) that is part of the town hall of Barcelona. We are equipt to interpret and translate more that 60 languages and dialects.

- Health promotion
In March The Internacional Unit of Drasannes for Tropical diseases and prevention and vaccination :
- prevention of infectious/contagious diseases, sexualy transmitted diseases (STDīs) and AIDīs.
- health program for women immigrants.

COMUNICATION AND SENSIBILITZACION AREA
Development of activities to increase public awareness:
- Xerrades informatives
- Participation in conferences, round circles at colleges and public centres.
- Exposition about Refugees in Catalunya and the world.
- Collaboration of studies, investigations and publications.

PUBLICATIONS
- Publish the magazine REFUGIATS de l'ACNUR en catalā.
- Bulletin of information of ACSAR
- Fulletó del Interpreter and Translation Services
- Publish articles.
